Toshiba adds five new Tecras to business laptop line up

Toshiba of Canada Information Systems Group (Toshiba) has announced five new Tecra laptops, including two Tecra M10 series and two Tecra S10 series laptops that feature the latest Intel vPro processor technology for high performance and secure business computing.

Intel vPro processor technology includes hardware-assisted security and management capabilities that allow IT professionals to remotely diagnose and troubleshoot a system resulting in enhanced workplace productivity with the reduction in down time and IT support wait time. Intel vPro technology provides the industry’s first solution for operating system-absent manageability and security even when the PC is off, the OS is unresponsive and when software agents are disabled.
The hardware-based capabilities improve network traffic filtering and isolate clients under attack for added security.

All models include Toshiba EasyGuard technology, with built-in shock absorbers for the hard disk drive, LCD panel, LCD inverter and chassis. The magnesium alloy casework keeps the unit robust and light for travel and the spill-resistant keyboard guards the laptop from spills. Security features include multi-level passwords and a fingerprint reader. All five Tecra models come with a three year warranty and are Microsoft Office Ready as they include a free 60 day trial of Microsoft Office Professional 2007.

Tecra M10 Series
The titanium silver laptop features a 14.1-inch wide screen display, weighs 5.4 pounds and packs in a DVD Super Multi Double Layer drive, wireless and Bluetooth capabilities and an integrated webcam. The portable laptop comes loaded with Windows Vista Business with a downgrade option for the Windows XP Professional operating system.

Tecra M10-EG2 – comes with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor P8400 – 2.26 GHz with vPro processor technology, 2 GB DDR2, 160 GB of Hard Disk Drive space and an NVIDIA Quadro NVS 150M Graphics controller with 256 MB of dedicated video memory. The native LCD panel resolution displays 1400×900×16.7 million colours for sharp images. It retails for a suggested list price of $1,549.
2. Tecra M10-EG0 – features the Intel Core 2 Duo processor P8400 – 2.26 GHZ with vPro processor technology, 2 GB DDR2, 160 GB of Hard Disk Drive space and an NVIDIA Quadro NVS 150M Graphics controller with 256 MB of dedicated video memory. The native LCD panel resolution displays 1280×800×16.7 colours. It retails for a suggested list price of $1,499.
3. Tecra M10-00P – equipped with an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor P8600-2.4 GHz, 2 GB DDR2, 250 GB of Hard Disk Drive space and a Mobile Intel GMA X4500 graphics controller with 256 GB of shared video memory. It retails for a suggested list price of $1,499.

Tecra S10 Series
Both Tecra S10 laptops feature a 15.4-inch wide screen display. The titanium silver laptop comes with a DVD Super-Multi Double Layer drive, wireless and Bluetooth capabilities and a 1.3 MP webcam. The versatile desktop replacement comes with Windows Vista Business and an option to downgrade to Windows XP Professional.

1. Tecra S10-MN4 – comes with an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor P9400-2.53 GHz vPro processor technology, 2 GB DDR2, 200 GB of Hard Disk Drive space and an NVIDIA Quadro NVS 150M graphics controller with 256 MB of dedicated video memory. It retails for a suggested list price of $1,849.
2. Tecra S10-MN2 – features an Intel Core 2 Duo processor P8600-2.4GHz vPro processor technology, 2 GB DR2, 160 GB of Hard Disk Drive space and an NVIDIA Quadro NVS 150M Graphics with 256 MB of dedicated video memory. It retails for a suggested list price of $1,549.
